To Clear Up a Few Things
by Rob Moonites
It’s been some time since I’ve mentioned Vic Zuzu. In fact, the last time I spoke about him I hoped it to be the last. I’ve been quite happy to continue to conduct my business in Second Life and leave Vic to carry on with his. I have not contacted Vic, I have not spoken about Vic and I have not contacted his group members regarding him. In fact, I had all but forgotten about Vic and his “MAKE HIM OVER II” project, that is now apparently MAKE HIM OVER II – V6. That seems like a lot of numbers to me, and considering my name is Rob1977, that’s saying something. Unfortunately, Vic hasn’t forgotten about me, nor has he forgotten about MENStuff. It’s sad really, since his group seems to be doing fine, it’s not quite at MENStuff levels, but his efforts are admirable all the same. Most of the designers in his group also seem to be capable of ignoring Vic’s past. The past that has openly dismissed creator’s rights and that has laughed at DMCAs. The past that has taken original content and reproduced it. The past that has impersonated a Linden to use in his promotional materials and the past that has slandered and attempted to discredit other well respected members of the Second Life community.
It was brought to my attention by a number of designers who had been contacted by Zuzu that Vic is making claims that the MENStuff team are paying bloggers to slander his hunt. Honestly, we don’t have the time for this. We’re managing a group of 12k members as well as conducting our own successful Second Life businesses. Vic, however, does seem to have time to sit around and spread mis-truths regarding our group.
The latest lie was just a step too far and has pushed me into breaking my silence regarding this matter. Vic is now claiming that the original “Make Him Over” group (the one that he took the name and logo from) is in fact a fake and his group “MAKE HIM OVER II” (even though it clearly states “II” after the name) is in fact the original group. He seems to think that the original group was deleted, but if that was the case then surely Vic himself would have taken the group name, but he couldn’t… because the group was never deleted. It was passed over to us when Sam and Tarsis fell out and we recently passed it back to them. Join the group and check the owners if you want to be sure.
Besides the name of the group and the concept, even the logo is a direct copy. Here’s a link to a post Vic made regarding this topic, I’ve also screen capped the post (and have taken an archive) just in case he decides to pull it down.
http://viczuzu.blogspot.com/2011/02/evil-vic-zuzu.html
Vic also continues on in that post to make a lot of other claims such as Ivy and myself using the old Make Him Over blog and Flickr “illegaly”. Just to clarify here, something is illegal when it’s against the law. We didn’t break any laws here so I’ll presume Vic is a little confused as to the meaning of that word. Regardless, Tarsis and Samara gave us the Flickr group and the blog so that we could moderate them as Vic was posting spam on both. We still possess the blog and Flickr group which in addition to the original Make Him Over group (which we since returned) should be a really solid indicator as to who is the “rightful” successor to the original Make Him Over group and hunt.
While many of the content creators in Vic’s group seem prepared to ignore the character of this individual who operates without ethics or scruples, an individual who has shown a blatant disregard for Intellectual Property in the past, I am not prepared to ignore it. I will not support an event that he is part of or that he organises. I am highly disappointed in those who are aware of his actions and support him. I hope that the majority of his supporters are just mis-informed.
If you want to read more about Vic, really, a bit of time spent looking around his “fashion” blog will give you an excellent indicator of the character of this man. I put the word fashion in quotations because I’m unsure that I have ever seen anything resembling a fashion post there, certainly not in the last six months or so. Vic does a great job at assassinating his own character, a much better job than I could ever hope to do in a blog post. He also makes a few attempts at slandering individuals based on their sexuality or stylings.
His blog can be found here: http://viczuzu.blogspot.com/ and it will support any claims that I have made in this post. I am not making wild accusations here, this entire post is based on fact and I will stand by that.
I will conclude this post by stating unequivocally that the MENStuff group does not pay bloggers to slander MAKE HIM OVER II or Vic Zuzu. Most people have their own minds and will have come to their own determinations about him and based on those they may have personal policies regarding Vic and his group in place. We do not dictate what any bloggers have to say on Vic, or any other matter.
For more background on Vic, you can also reference my last blog posting on this matter here: https://robmoonites.wordpress.com/2011/07/26/meet-vic-zuzu/
Thank you for reading.
Unfortunately a lot of “Coordinators” in SL are more than happy to cheat, lie, and steal their way to group success…unfortunately he’s the worst of the worst. I am so surprised at how often I see/hear designers bad mouthing him in private and yet still participate in his events. I guess sometimes greed conquers ethics, sadly. Really well said, thanks for posting this. Keep doing what you’re doing…eventually people like this trip on their own past. 🙂
I support this letter100%. Thank you for setting the record straight Rob.
Time has passed we are not interested in MH02 the only time its brought up is when someone passes one of us the owners Zuzu’s latest rantings or drama directed at us.
This guy doesn’t have a original idea, we could care less about his group, but when he makes things up directed at us its just ridiculous. People/Designers who have worked with us know what’s up.
If you really want to know the truth read the links Rob pasted if not that’s fine too. I realize its got to be very hard to constantly defend stealing an idea and logo/group. That’s not our fault, own your shit Zu and stop spreading lies. We really don’t care about you. People talk bad about your hunt and group because of one reason only….You^^
The way you mislead people and the constant lies and heart of hatred.
Do your thing Zu we do ours, we are not after you, we don’t care. If you back us into a corner with lies and slander than it’s on….
I’m sorry that you have to keep clearing things up and keeping the record straight time and time again with this idiot. Whatever we have to do to get and keep the word out about this charlatan. Although his pathetic attention whore antics were amusing at first, his stories have become SO tiresome! Since he first appeared he’s been nothing but lies and drama. Wish he would just Zu Zuuum his way out of Second Life altogether!
This “Vic” guy sounds an awful lot like another “Vic” that’s been doling out the harshness on a London-themed Whovian region in SL. I mean the modus operandi you’ve described is identical. Hmm…
I’ll keep this short.
Back when MHO “died” and the 2 new groups appeared, I joined both. I knew Ivy well and needed nothing more to make me want to be part of menstuff. I didn’t know Vic at all, and so was hesitant. I never participated in an “MHO2” hunt, as I felt 2 weeks notice to prep was woefully inadequate (that’s about what was given the first time). I have since left that group entirely.
Ivy and I have had the occasional minor disagreement. But she and Rob have earned my trust and respect. ‘Nuff said.
I was in the Menstuff hunt, and I have to say that was one of the best organized hunts I have been in. I was thrilled to be in it and give an item to the men in SL. Now I am also in Vics Make Him Over Hunt 2….and sadly I can not say the same thing for his hunt. It has been a mess since it started. I have seen the notices and things that have been said about the Menstuff hunt and it’s organizers and haven’t believed a word of it. I have not talked to Vic but maybe 3 times and don’t plan to. HOWEVER I think the fact remains that Vic has sent notices and whatnot talking about the Menstuff hunt and This is the first time that you guys have said anything should say ALOT to people. IF it was this huge thing with the Menstuff people we would have seen more notices coming out. You guys haven’t said anything until now (that I am aware of) and to me it says that Vic is the one causing problems. I am content to ignore the he said she said notices and go on with my business….I don’t have time to get caught up in it.
I will end this by saying….
1. The Menstuff Hunt is an excellent group to get involved with if you have the chance.
2. The Make Him Over II Hunt….well……Take it or leave it.
Thank you, Rob and Ivy. I got that rant as a hunter for MHOH2-6, and when I finished the hunt and suggested on my comment card that such quarrels were better kept in private and that hunters should be allowed to hunt without being distracted by such nonsense. As far as I’m concerned, it looked like childish whining – and had nothing at all to do with the hunt itself. Heaven knows whether my voice will be heard, but at least I said it.
As a former member of the original “Make Him Over” group and also a member of the new “MENStuff” group I aplaude the efforts Rob Moonites and Ivy Maverick. These two designers embody the true spirit of secondlife design and Men’s Fashion. As a professional SL model and RL Manager, I look for same high qualities in personal attributes that these two posses such as integrity, honesty, compassion, and caring.
I can tell you that knowing these two and especially knowing Ivy, they have done just as they have said – not given second thought about Vic Zuzu or Make Him Over II. Rather, they have focused their efforts, just as Rob has said – on improving SL Men’s Fashion and positive promotion of the MENStuff group for all mankind both male or female.
If you ask me, Three Cheers for Rob and Ivy! Avoid the negative, steer clear of the drama, and let’s all focus on fun and men’s fashion JUST as these two have done. The rest will eventually fade and fall by the wayside.
What I love the most about this thread is how there is not one “anonymous”
Thank you to all of you for standing up for us. I am touched.
❤
One more thing, in support of Rob’s post. Once a SL group is deleted, it cannot be recreated. Period. Therefore if the MHO group exists, it is the original one. If Vic claims otherwise, he is flat out wrong.
I just spent an amusing hour browsing his blog. Good for a chuckle. 🙂
In response to Biohazard’s final points: 1 – agreed. 2 – left it.
This may sound cruel or childish but, i cincerely wish that Vic would “DIAF” already. He’s caused enough harm to respected friends and colleagues. My full support is with Rob and Ivy, Vic is nothing but a thief.
My thoughts on Vic Zuzu:
http://www.davidventer.net/2011/07/07/vic-zuzu-can-suck-my/
I was in the Make Him Over hunts, I have been in the Menshunts and I joined this years Make Him Over II. I did not join last year becuase of all the drama, and sadly I think I may not join next year. I will stick with the drama free goup, Menshunt.
I had decided to join Make Him Over II becuase I like being in hunts for men, I think there are not enough fun free thigns for guys in SL and this is my way of giving to them without going all freebie.. lol
That said, I won’t continue. I sit and watch sometimes in my store, and its weird, diffrent hunts have diffrent types of hunters… I only had ONE person who was a jerk in the Menshunt. ONE… out of however many thousands came thru my store. And, the second I spoke to Skintrader about it, the matter was taken care of. That is good client service, and the people in the Menshunt, the hunters, are all very nice people. They even… gasp… thanked me sometimes!
The people in the Make Him Over Hunt II group are a diffrent type. I have had to ban five people since this hunt started.
So, while I am sure there are great people in that hunt, its not worth it to me to join it again. The drama, and the people doing the hunt are just not what I want my sim to have to deal with.
Phinneas Vella
As an addendum… after this post, a Mr. Z contacted me and after a nice long IM of him being upset about thigns I did not even say here, he kicked me from the MHO2 hunt. I had all 4 of the stores on my sim leave as well… wow, that was drama.
Just shows who is more mature I guess.
Phinn
I woke up this morning to find I’d been kicked out of MHO2. No reason given. A symbolic gesture really as I was able to just rejoin. Also, since you aren’t required to wear your group tag to pick up the hunt gifts (as in the Menstuff hunt) it doesn’t really matter anyway. Yes, I’ve done both hunts. I must say MS was better organized and the group as a whole is friendlier. Thankfully I have made friends with individuals within the MHO2 group that have made the hunt bearable. I knew nothing of all this before the MHO2 Hunt, I’m just in it for the challenge and the freebies. FYI if Vic boots me again, which I expect he will, I won’t be rejoining until at least MHOH7, if then.

Regardless of the fact that my avatar is over five years old, I never took an interest in the male fashion world. I don’t recall how i learned about MENstuff but I found myself becoming a VERY active participant in the first MENstuff hunt in February. Not once during the hunt did I hear anything about the MHO groups, positive or negative. In fact, it wasn’t until AFTER the hunt that I had even heard the name ‘Vic Zuzu’.
I consider myself to be an open minded individual. It wasn’t until I took the time to read various of Vic’s own blog postings that I came to the conclusion that his lack of professionalism hadn’t been understated.
Yes, I am currently the manager of MENstuff, not an owner. I have been more than content to leave this all up to Ivy and Rob to deal with but could not, in good conscience, allow it to be said that MENstuff pays bloggers (or anyone) for bad publicity on the part of ANY group. With a group as large as ours we simply don’t have the time, or inclination, for that.
With that being said, yes, we do have a large group consisting of designers, bloggers/writers, and shoppers. The owners and moderators of MENstuff are only that – owners and moderators, not parents or police. We cannot control what others will write/say nor do we condone libelous/slanderous material. If there are those that are less than thrilled with Vic and/or his group, they are welcome to their opinion. As Rob mentioned in his post, the owners (and manager) of MENstuff are perfectly fine without giving him or his group another thought.
I just wanted point out that the original creator, as noted in your image for the original MHO group is Terri Rau, and not Tarsis and Samara as you stated. Terri had passed the group along to Tarsis and Samara when it became too much for her. The original concept, the original name was Terri, though the hunts did come from Tarsis and Samara. Terri’s account is deleted, but she is still in world under another name.
That aside, I knew from the outset of the disbanding that Menstuff was the way to go, right from the beginning I had heard all sorts of bad things in regards to the MHO II as well as the groups creator. I’m not here to push on the slander, only give my support to both the original MHO as well as the Menstuff groups.
Though I learnt the hard way that feeding the trolls is a bad idea, I congratulate you on this post and think it’s needed to make public how Mister Zuzu handles his ‘business’ affairs.
There are two creators in the MHO2 who are personal friends and when I asked them why they support a complete moron by participating and thus risking their good reputation in SL, the simple answer was that they had no idea about the drama Mister Zuzu spawns (which is also based on language problems as they are Japanese creators with limited English skills). And after showing them the ‘crown jewels’ of his blog posts they fully understood why I wouldn’t blog their items and rather not mention the hunt at all.
Accusations that bloggers get paid for not blogging his hunt are as ridiculous and petty as his fashion style.
Keep up the good work with MENstuff, it’s a great event I really look forward to again.
Feel free to blog my item now, I put it out for free in my store, since I left his hunt, I still wanted the people to get the free gift I made them. Now its the Anti Drama Gift.. lol!
From the very start. Vic hated menstuff. He use to post about it on his blog. In fact I think it took up four post. In these post, he would bash Rob, Ivy and myself. Around that time Rob wrote his first post about Zuzu.
Around the time of Zuzu’s hunt, he took down these post. In fact he took down all his drama post. I thought he grew up and he was going to do his own thing. Worry about the brand he stolen. Instead he chose to make two blog post about me bashing my character still thinking I was part of the Menstuff team. He also stole images from my flickr and used them for his own post.
I know for a fact that Menstuff never paid bloggers to do anything. Any and all blogs that were posted about MHOH2 were of people’s own free will. You would think that designers would run far away from him. They would go to his blog and see how he handles his issues. But most designers just want to be in hunts. They don’t want to deal with the drama. They would rather just let it go.
But letting it go won’t do anything. Sadly for the designers who choose to ignore Zuzu’s ways. And though this may be wrong to say, they will start to be seen in a bad light. In my mind and like many others, it’s like if Hitler ran a camp and they blindly joined him thinking to themselves “it’s only a camp.”
People go all the time “Well why do you just ignore him, he will go away.” No he doesn’t. Menstuff ignored him. I’ve, for the most part, ignored him and he is still is on the war path.
Linden labs isn’t any help with the issue. Not even when Zuzu created a fake poster for his hunt posing and Adam Linden who at that time wasn’t a linden anymore. It’s up to designers, to the male fashion world to stand up and say in one voice that we do not want him here.
Hi i am owner OHARA.First sorry for my english.
i pay to Vic Zuzu for MHO hunt blogsite advertise. They use Linden offical destination guide member name.I give my transection log file for LL Report abouse. İ think many people get laid from this guy Vic Zuzu money is not important but I do not like being robbed
It is sad when someone has to say over and over and over that people are paid for comments. If they’re paid.. I WANT PROOF!
This latest attack by Zuzu is adding gasoline to the fire he’s placed on himself. I’ve made comments on my baby-just starting blog as well as his own, Which I doubt would ever be posted by him.. Hiding such challenges.
I’ll place it upon my blog as a response to a post I made earlier today.
Feel free to look at it.. Find my name on SL and my blog’s posted in my picks.
Mwah to all the professionals.
Hey Entropy – I too have a blog that I have just started. I don’t get all caught up in the politics of it and my blog is mostly about fashion, but I am more than happy to give my FREE and unadulterated opinion there as well to this latest MHO II farce
I’m so sorry that you guys have to keep doing this when Vic goes over the edge. I have such empathy. It’s amazing the amount of “crazy” people can exhibit, when accused or confronted especially. For some, any attention is good attention and he knows the triggers that will get it. I hope you know, it’s only the sad and insecure that need to debase others to seem larger or more important. I think most people know the truth or at least have an inkling. You guys have an awesome rep in the design community as far as I have seen and deserve a lot of pats on the back for keeping that up with all this going on around you, so kudos and many years of success with MENStuff! Oh and like the meme, haters gonna hate. Let em, you do your thing. ❤
I am the menstuff blogger…I accepted mam Ivy’s request and even told her personally not to pay. I help out menstuff and its designers in any way I can. I do this for the passion of it and not for any other means.
I hope this issue can be put to end and all be well.
Huggies to all.
❤ Markski
I really really wish he would disappear. When ever I go to a store and see the Make Him Over ll group joiner boards, promotional material, etc, I immediately turn back for home. I will never shop at a store that supports this mans atrocities. I don’t care what these designers or supporters are in it for. I wont do it. I’m sure i’m not the only one.
We have ignored him for a really long time and Gabe and I even withdrew from being team members of MENstuff a LOOONG time ago for personal reasons and yet he STILL feels the need to use Gabe’s name negatively to pull attention into his blog while the MENstuff hunt is going on. THEN, when it’s over…people stop caring. So I am guessing his hunt really hasn’t been as successful as it seems due to his latest stunt of making these accusations.
I’m frankly sick and tired of hearing about him. People just need to drop ALL interaction and business plans with him and he will surely disappear. At the very least, he wouldn’t have any leverage over anyone and will just look like an utter crackpot, which he so infamously built a reputation as for himself prior to looking even nuttier.
In his latest blog post he for some reason calls out a large store brand for being responsible for his own mistakes and I just don’t GET IT. He refers to himself and/or his hunt as ‘THE POWER’ and it’s quite the opposite, as the masses are the power. lol. He needs to wake up and smell the chloroform because I wouldn’t be able to tolerate him awake for too long.
Garrett, I was in the hunt until yesterday, cause I was tryingto be fair to everyone.. I will guaretee you the hunt is not as popular as he says it is, becuase I check my sim traffic daily. It is less than one third of what it was during MensStuff… and thats with us having had three shops in MHO2.
Now that I have paid attention, I will never do anythign associated with him again. He is a sociopath.
I have been a great fan of the MENStuff group from the very start. Ivy and Rob have displayed professionalism and courtesy for as long as I’ve been associated with their hunt. And while I am all about the high quality freebie, I was very pleased to see MENStuff group openly encourage members to spend linden when possible to ensure the survival of SL designers and their stores.
I was a proud member of the original MHO group as well.
Imagine my surprise to learn that there is some other hunt group led by some other person named Vic Zero or something … ( it’s either Zero or a different four-letter word that isn’t important enough to recall at the moment) …
For my linden dollars, there IS no other hunt group besides MENStuff. Rob … Ivy … your group and your designers have my support, and my Linden dollars, always.
Sincerely,
Thomm Collins.
Unfortunately for Vic, the majority of the following for both of these groups are there because they care about getting free stuff and maybe learning about good stores involved in the hunts. His group doesn’t have 1000s of members because they are all personally fans of vic zuzu. I was invited to MHO hunt and ended up leaving before it started. My decision to leave was completely unbiased and based completely on Vic’s ignorance and rude/unprofessional personality.
From day 1, he seemed to think he was famous, which I simply played off as “ok, this guy is just a weirdo… nothing out of the ordinary as far as SL is concerned”. It wasn’t until about the 100th IM from Vic pestering me about giving him my hunt gift info days ahead of time that I decided to avoid it altogether by dropping… and soon after I discovered his blog which made me happier about my decision. The blog is supposed to be offensive but comes off more like a parody of himself in the way it’s written. You can hardly understand what hes saying. Not to mention, writes a post basically bashing a gay dude, then follows it up with an inspirational post involving a pussycat dolls video. If anyone has been unfortunate enough to talk to vic and not just read his nonsensical blog, youll realize hes basically begging for someone to hold his hand to come out of the closet.
Its sad that groups that are meant to be informative have to be competitive against each other. But as a store owner, I’ll choose the hunt run by the more professional coordinator, which happens to be Rob in probably every category. I think most other store owners who care enough will do the same, so it works out.
When this most recent MHO hunt started, I took it upon myself to post the hunt store list/SLURLs along with the official hints from the notecard for each store on my blog, just to help hunters out – no exact locations, just a nice list of ‘official’ info so that people would have everything in one place.
Vic contacted me, demanding I take it down, saying people *might* use the list for making their own cheat list, and threatened to kick/ban me if I didn’t. In the course of that conversation I explained that, in my opinion allowing members to talk smack about creators in the group chat was FAR more harmful than a simple list on a relatively new and unknown blog such as mine. If people are determined to cheat, I think they’d to it using area search, etc.
Locks only keep honest people out.
I offered to moderate his chat, and did so for a day – I even found a replacement store for him when one dropped out and set it all up for him, but after dealing with his attitude for ONE day, I did some research. I was not surprised to learn why his reputation is in shambles.
I had enough. Hindsight is 20/20, as they say. I should have followed my instincts and told him where to stick it when he asked me to take it down.
People have since suggested to put the list post back up, either because they found it helpful, or just to piss him off, but I haven’t – because I tend to agree with Garrett’s comment above – he should be ignored. Without any proof to back up his statements regarding paying bloggers to trash him, the words fall as empty as his head appears to be.
I found him most unprofessional, arrogant and paranoid, and this is coming from someone who regrettably and stupidly was helping him out at the time.
Nanaki, please feel invited to our group we would love to have you. All of our team was recruited or hired from within the group with people who started out helping hunters and supporting MENstuff.
One of our group rules is that slamming a designer (any designer) is not allowed in our group. We have and will eject anyone doing this. We dont like any negativity towards designers or other hunters and we shut the convo down fast.
We never allowed negative chat about Zuzu in our group chat either.
We also don’t replace stores when a store drops out (during) our hunt. We screen and only allowed 150 participants on our last hunt. This insured a smooth hunt with very little issues. We had our 150 stores at least 2 weeks before we started the hunt and turned many new stores away to apply for our next hunt.

Oh i feel so bad for him.
This kid has no creativity of his own, No original idea’s, No respect for others.
All that he is, is a little piece of ****
I never heard of him before, so i guess he didn’t make any impression on me at all.
Luckily i never joined his hunt as a designer, nor joined his group as a hunter.
i decided to check out his blog since the link is posted here.
And i didn’t get any further then the posts about Gabe.
That was enough to see how sad this Zuzu person is.
Anyway, i don’t wanna spend any more of my time to him, so i just hope that he will be gone soon, and he will get his downfall
OH, I meant to say one additional thing. NEVER EVER allow him to interview you for ANYTHING. DO not chat with him. He will take your logs and distort them to his liking, including time-stamps as he see’s fit to his delusions. He’ll eliminate things he says and add or subtract to what you say. The only time he ever directly quotes anyone without editing is when he’s quoting something that is public, like this blog entry for instance. lol.
Another thing, if you speak another language other than English and you have friends in his hunt, by all means, let them know of how he is because the majority of the people calling him out have been doing so in English and some of the people are unaware due to language barrier.
Rivers of Blablas. You are all in the same business.
Rob and Ivy with Maverick Design for FIRST.
Attacking people, as you are all doing here, is against ToS, just in case you would appear ‘fair’ people.
I’m not too sure what you mean, Anthony, you’re not being terribly clear. Perhaps you could clarify?
Regardless, ToS doesn’t apply outside of Second Life, but thank you for your input.
Have you ever been to Vic’s blog. Have you ever looked at it? What is that a no? Than sit your ass down.
I’m pretty sure they’re hugely familiar with Vic’s blog, Gabe
I’m not seeing where an attack was made. MHO 2 is a copy of the original group as is the logo (as shown in Rob’s original post). Vic Zuzu has repeatedly written inflammatory remarks in his blogs about various people whether it be individually or by group.
If you wish to truly dig through the finer points of the ToS, make sure not to skip the part about Community Standards (https://secondlife.com/corporate/cs.php), particularly the first two points.
Intolerance
Combating intolerance is a cornerstone of Second Life’s Community Standards. Actions that marginalize, belittle, or defame individuals or groups inhibit the satisfying exchange of ideas and diminish the Second Life community as a whole. The use of derogatory or demeaning language or images in reference to another Resident’s race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or sexual orientation is never allowed in Second Life. (see Zuzu’s blog)
Harassment
Given the myriad capabilities of Second Life, harassment can take many forms. Communicating or behaving in a manner which is offensively coarse, intimidating or threatening, constitutes unwelcome sexual advances or requests for sexual favors, or is otherwise likely to cause annoyance or alarm is Harassment. (With as often as Zuzu has taken it upon himself to make accusations against MENstuff and the group’s owners I feel this point applies.)
While I do welcome an open debate, I’d like to suggest that you gain a better grasp of your subject matter before engaging.
Just an FYI, I’m not going to be approving anonymous insulting comments on this blog. I don’t know why you could put your name on the first comment “Anthony” but not on the second. Also, you’re one person, not a “we”. Thanks.
I’ve been keeping an eye on Vic Zuzu’s blog for a while now, when I’m in the Secondlife soap opera viewing mood. I’ve seen fashion posts, fashion of a kind which isn’t my particular cup of tea, but was perhaps as well meaning as any other fashion blogger. I actually do appreciate his attempts at bringing in more remote fashion history, if true, in defending some of his fashion posts. To be fair, perhaps the language barrier is also a part of the intense firestorm of drama that he seems to instigate.
That being said however:
While I agree that fashion as an industry is definitely not the most fair, ethical, or drama free of businesses, Vic is not the sort of person one wants to be associated with. In terms of professionalism, he has none. He freely and guiltlessly slanders earnest members of the secondlife community. Not in fair and open debate about the fashion or the industry, but insulting the creative works which are supposed to be inspiring for others. Regardless of personal differences of fashion taste, the outright disrespect he displays when others disagree with him is deplorable.
Personally, I don’t like the ‘he said, she said, etc’ battles that so often occur when secondlife is involved, (or any anonymous internet forum I suppose) but I can say this with a happy conscience:
Having participated in the Menstuff Hunt as well as the old and new MHOH hunts, the Menstuff hunt has the same spirit of vitality and encouragement of mens fashion which the old MHOH had. Comradeship and mutual respect for designers, hunters, and bloggers, in pursuit of a more fair SL towards men interested in fashion.
Contrary to that goal, when the head of the hunt organization belittles respected members of the male fashion community regularly and without real provocation.
Anyways, thanks again to all the designers and bloggers who keep hunts fair, free, and encourage a spirit of professionalism and respect.
I am lucky that I have not had to ever deal with Vic Zuzu or Make Him Over HuntII. I however have had dealings with the original Make Him Over as well as Menstuff, Rob, and Ivy. They are a great organization that is dedicated to Mens Fashion. They have created a group that has so many wonderful, helpful, and cheerful members. If you ever sit and watch the group chat it is lively, fun, and interactive.
I have never heard any utterance of negative words about MHOHII, Vic, or anything related to him without him first speaking out against Menstuff and the organizers. It is sad that he feels the need to do this instead of getting past it and moving on in his own business.
On a more personal note having known Rob the longest he is an honorable person. He is very professional, tries to be drama free, and gets along well with everyone who crosses his path. He has a very good heart and would rather do his own thing then spend needless time and energy on dealing with crap like this. I hope that MHOHII will disappear and that those designers who have not yet realized what Vic and his hunt are about will wake up and join Menstuff soon. It will only benefit them in the long run to be part of such a fantastic organization and hunt!
Well as an old blogger/hunter and organiser i feel sickened.
I put this up to be posted on his webpage but i doubt very much that it will appear. This is what i wrote to him.
“As an old blogger, as an old hunt organiser for many years just like to say people like you make me sick.
People word damned hard to get something running and you leeched off someone elses triumphs.
Why not set up your OWN hunt group with an individual name rather than copy someone else? Are you that incapable of independant thought??
Don’t mistake people hunting your hunts as popularity, people will hunt anything. I hope all your endeavours fail!”
I just don’t agree whole heartedly that he should of jumped on someone elses sucess. Its something you earn through hard graft and determination. He achieved it through stealing a name and a logo along with spreading lies.
People like him give SL a really bad name.
